DOMINIC  SHARON

It was a Friday morning after a tough work week in Saint John, New Brunswick when Sharon realized she had no way of getting home. At that point, 'home' was a short-term rental 5 hours away in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She wrote an email to a colleague desperately:

"Hi Dominic,

I'm the new Senior who just moved here from Dubai.  I hear you are driving back to Halifax and have room in your car; Do you think I can ride with you guys?

"Hi Sharon,

Sure! We are aiming to leave around 2pm.

-Dom

"Sounds good! -Sharon M"

Dominic and his other coworker were looking forward to getting an early start to the weekend. He had his playlist ready, snack stops and route planned. He pulled up to the parking lot at 2pm as promised.

"Hi Sharon,

I'm outside - Dom"

Sharon showed up about 30 minutes later with a huge smile and an apologetic "Sorry for making you guys wait!"

Dominic and his coworker didn't show their mild annoyance, but turned up the music and started the journey that would change their lives forever. 

​

Over the course of the next two months, Dom and Sharon got to know each other over these long drives and bonded over their taste in music, stories of travel, friends and family. Their lives were so different up until that point, yet somehow they knew from those early moments that what they had found in each other was special.
